In Arabic تحويل المخزون
A document that moves stock from one location to another, such as between warehouses, bins or vehicles, without changing the total the company holds.
A transfer takes stock out of one place and puts it into another. Total stock and its cost stay the same; only where it sits changes. For a distributor, loading a van from the warehouse is a transfer too.
Some businesses record a transfer in two steps, shipped and then received, so goods on a truck are still counted somewhere. Others move them in one step when the trip is short.
The common mistake is moving goods with no document, then fixing both locations with adjustments at the next count. The total may agree, but the history and the cost trail are lost.
In Axon Suite
An Axon Suite transfer takes stock out of one warehouse, bin or rep’s van and puts it into the other in the same posting. A transfer that would take a bin below zero is refused, unless the warehouse allows negative stock.
A transfer names where the goods leave and where they land: another warehouse, another bin in the same warehouse, or a rep’s van. Posting it takes the stock out and puts it in at once, so nothing is lost between two entries.
