Delivery fee

In Arabic رسوم التوصيل

A delivery fee is a charge added to an order to cover the cost of bringing the goods to the customer’s address.

In plain words

Delivery costs money: the vehicle, the fuel and the driver’s time. A fee recovers part of that cost and discourages very small orders. Some sellers charge a flat fee per area, some charge by distance, and some deliver free above an order value.

The fee is best billed as its own line on the order and the invoice, sold as a non-stock service. It is then counted as revenue, and a delivery charge billed with the goods is usually taxed the same way as the goods.

The common mistake is folding the fee into item prices. Margins by product become wrong, the customer cannot see what delivery costs, and when the fee changes every price has to change with it.

How Axon Suite handles it

In Axon Suite each service area can carry one fixed delivery fee, sold as a non-stock item you choose and added to the order as its own line, so it is invoiced and taxed like any other. An area with no fee delivers free.

Feature

Service areas drawn on a map

Each service area is a shape on the map with its own price list, the warehouse it ships from, an optional delivery fee and the reps who cover it. The customer app takes orders only from addresses inside an active area.
