A price list is a table of the selling or buying prices of items, often per unit and quantity, that applies to a customer, a channel or a period.
A price list puts every price in one place, so a quote, an order and an invoice for the same customer on the same day all show the same figure. It is the reference every discount and special price is measured against.
Distributors usually keep several: a default list, lists for wholesale or key accounts, and purchase lists from suppliers. Prices are set per unit, such as piece or carton, often with lower prices from a quantity up, and valid between dates.
The common mistake is typing prices on each document. Each salesperson then has their own price, increases never reach every customer, and nobody can say what an item is supposed to sell for.
In Axon Suite
In Axon Suite sales and purchase price lists each have their own currency, VAT terms and dates, are assigned per customer or vendor, and hold prices per unit with quantity breaks.
Build sales and purchase price lists in their own currency, with or without VAT in the price, valid between two dates. Give a customer or vendor a list of their own or let them trade on your default, and price each item by unit with lower prices from a quantity up.
