In Arabic عرض السعر
A quotation is a written offer to a customer stating the goods, prices and terms the seller will honour if it is accepted before an expiry date.
A quotation lets the customer compare and decide before committing. For the seller it fixes, in writing, what was offered, so the order that follows can be checked against it line by line.
A quote usually carries an expiry date, because prices and stock change. Once the customer accepts, the quote becomes a sales order with the same lines, prices and discounts. A rejected or expired quote is kept as a record but goes no further.
The common mistake is re-pricing on conversion. The customer accepted one price, the order shows another because the list changed in between, and the invoice starts an argument.
In Axon Suite
In Axon Suite a quote is marked sent, the customer’s yes or no is recorded, it expires on its date if unanswered, and it converts to an order that keeps the quoted prices and discounts.
Write the quote from the customer’s price list, mark it sent and record the answer. Accepted, it becomes an order with the quoted lines, prices and discount carried over unchanged. Left unanswered past its expiry date, it expires on its own.
