A check-in is the record a field rep makes on arriving at a customer, stamping the time and location and opening the visit, which a check-out later closes.
The check-in is the evidence behind every visit report. It shows that a rep was at the outlet, when and for how long, and ties the orders, invoices and payments of that visit to one call. The customer visit is the whole call; the check-in is its opening record.
Most apps stamp the check-in with the phone’s time and position and close the visit with a check-out. The gap between the two gives the visit length, and comparing check-ins with the plan shows which stops were really made.
The common mistake is reading a check-in as proof of a sale. A rep can check in everywhere and sell nowhere, so check-ins should be read beside productive visits, not instead of them.
In Axon Suite
In Axon Suite check-in and check-out record the time and where the rep stood, and both work in the rep app with no signal. A rep on strict planning can check in only at today’s planned stops.
Put each rep’s customers on weekdays from a map, in the order they are visited. At midnight in your time zone the plan becomes that day’s route in the rep app. A skipped stop needs a reason, and unplanned visits are counted apart from planned ones.
