Shops hand back expired, damaged or slow-selling goods to the rep who visits them. Taking the return there and then keeps the customer happy and stops old stock sitting on the shelf under your brand.
A field return is best taken against the invoice the goods were sold on, so the credit matches what the customer paid. Many businesses also decide in advance which returns a rep may approve alone and which wait for the office.
The common mistake is taking goods back with no document. The customer then waits for a credit that depends on the rep’s memory, and the goods reach the warehouse with no record of where they came from.
In Axon Suite
In Axon Suite reps take returns at the customer, against an invoice or without one, and your field settings decide whether each return is approved, received and credited on the spot.
A rep takes back goods during the visit, against one of the customer’s invoices or on their own. Your field settings decide how far the return goes on its own: approved, received into stock, and passed for credit without inspection.
