Minimum order value

In Arabic الحد الأدنى لقيمة الطلب

A minimum order value is the smallest order total a seller will accept, set so that each order covers the cost of picking, delivering and invoicing it.

In plain words

Every order costs money to handle, whatever its size: someone picks it, a vehicle carries it, an invoice is raised and collected. Below a certain value the order loses money, and a minimum order value keeps those orders from being taken.

The minimum is usually set on the order total, before or after VAT, sometimes per channel or per area. Orders below it are refused, held for approval, or charged a small-order or delivery fee instead.

The common mistake is setting a minimum and then waiving it for anyone who asks. Once reps know the rule bends, every small order becomes an exception, and the cost it was meant to cover comes back.
