An online order is an order a customer places themselves through a website or app, which reaches the seller already keyed, priced and ready to be fulfilled.
An online order differs from one taken by a rep in who typed it: the customer did. No salesperson stands between the cart and the order, so everything a rep would check, such as price, stock and delivery address, has to be checked by the system before it is accepted.
Once placed, an online order joins the normal flow: it is confirmed, assigned for delivery, delivered and invoiced, and the customer follows its status. B2B ordering is the channel; the online order is one record that comes through it.
The common mistake is letting the app work out its own totals. When the phone and the server price differently, the customer is invoiced a figure they never saw at checkout.
In Axon Suite
In the Axon Suite customer app the server prices the cart, discounts and VAT included, and checks the address, the area, minimum quantities and stock again at checkout. Order history shows each order’s status.
Your retailers sign in with their phone number, browse the catalogue at the prices of their own price list, and check out against what is really in stock. Axon Suite works out every total before the order is placed.
