Each rep discounts as far as you allow, and no further
On each rep’s profile you decide whether they may give a discount and, if so, their maximum percentage. Every order and invoice from the rep app is held to it on the server, on the line and on the whole document.

How the ceiling is set and held
Set it on the profile
Turn on discounts for the rep and enter their maximum percentage. One cannot be saved without the other.
The app follows
A rep without the right sees no discount field in the cart.
The server checks
Each line discount and the document discount is compared with the maximum when the order or invoice is saved.
Amounts count too
A discount typed as an amount is turned into its share of the price and held to the same maximum.
Details that matter
No right, no discount
A rep who may not discount has every discount refused, however small.
Line and header alike
The ceiling binds each line and the discount on the whole document.
Offline is no way round
A document made offline is checked when it reaches the server, so the ceiling holds there too.
Questions buyers ask
Can a rep discount more with a manager’s say-so?
Not from the rep app. Raise the rep’s maximum on their profile, and the new ceiling applies to the next document.
Is the ceiling checked on the phone or on the server?
On the server. The app hides the field from reps without the right, but the server makes the decision.
Can a rep be allowed discounts with no maximum?
No. The profile is refused unless the right to discount and the maximum are set together.
